So it’s been a little longer than anticipated since I last wrote an entry. Between Florida holding their first outdoor pro motocross national in 22 years and getting some new suspension from Kyle over at Moto 4 Play LLC I have been busy to say the least. Huge congratulations to WW Ranch for the show they put on. Those guys did a fantastic job hosting the national. That said I had a few things occur over the last week that I didn’t foresee into going into this whole team build. I came to a realization in part being a father myself of a little boy and also having another on the way that the core values of this team are what is most important to me. I realized that the agreements are not with the riders. Not the underage ones (those under 18). The team standing is majorly between the team and the parents. When I look at what my son would decide for himself of course I say to myself that I should oversee and advise. I had a brief moment where I looked at the team as a brand. Something like KTM or Yamaha or a big bike shop trying to grow. I found great peace in reminding myself that while we do market the team, we don’t market to sell a product.
The FCS Racing team was founded on the principals to teach riders on the cusp of greatness how valuable they are and how to understand that value. Not to sell it. Our goal is to take riders to a podium, a championship, a career. All the while understanding that this is not their final stop. At some point these young riders will be used to sell a product and hopefully it is taught that it be something they stand behind and believe in. If you’re riding for KTM then hopefully it was your dream to ride for them because you stand behind the brand. In the meantime FCS Racing’s goal is to show them their worth. Build upon their future and show them some of the pressures before they sign with a team that requires podiums. I firmly believe there is a time and a place for when a rider through to adult pro should have different pressures put onto them. Our time is now and our goals are to build riders and families to get to that next step!
That was more said as something to look back on when Instagram is hot and popularity rises and we can look back on what it is that got us here to begin with. That’s the love of racing and the love of helping others.
A brief snapshot of what is to come……
We will have some riding time out at Spyder MX this weekend June 29-30 and Kyle Turnis owner of Moto 4 Play LLC will be out as well if you have suspension questions. Now is a great time for working with Kyle as the season is slow and you can test and train. Also we continue to work on the website to develop multiple schedules of races for American Hard Enduro (AHE) Florida Trail Riders (FTR) Kenda Full Gas and Grand National Cross Country (GNCC). We hope you’re all training hard and riding fast. New team member announcements to come in the next 3 weeks and we hope to see y’all out there sending it!
